Competition terms and conditions

Players must be aged 16 years or older on or before 31 March 2011.

Players will be allowed to enter only once.

Current members of the PDC who or anyone who has previously been a member of the PDPA after 1st January 2009 are not eligible to enter this competition.

In all rounds, games will be played on a standard board – doubles, trebles, 25 and 50 (bull) – hung 5 foot 8 inches from the centre of the bull to the floor and the throwing distance will be 7 foot 9 inches measured along the floor.

The 50 or bull counts as double 25 and when a 50 is required, bull is double game shot.

A challenge round will be played by all entrants. All entrants will be given 15 darts and the highest four scores in each session will go through to a knock out 501 game at the end of the challenge period. The 15 darts will be played in groups of three.

In the 501 game, the top scorer with 15 darts plays fourth best scorer and the second best scorer with 15 darts plays third best.

The 501 game will be a straight start and finish on the double. The bust rule will apply in all cases.

Equal darts are not recognised and the player who first obtains the number required in accordance with the playing conditions wins the game.

Players must use darts weighing no less than 10gms or more than 50gms and shall have a steel or similar metal point. No darts count unless the point is actually touching the board when the score is called. All players must retrieve their own darts. The score of any dart falling from the board is not counts unless the score of the three darts has been called by the marker.

Players must toe the line or the oche, keeping one foot within any side limits.

All scores must be recorded by a marker and checked by the referee or players.

No substitutes are allowed at any stage of the competition to progress from further stages.

No player may wear clothing or use flights bearing advertising that conflicts with the PDC, Speedy Hire or official sponsors during any round, or during promotional nights as organised by the PDC or Speedy Hire.
